Computer to Plate (CtP/Platesetter)

Platesetter berfungsi untuk meng- output pelat cetak langsung dari data digital (PC/ Mac) tanpa melalui film separasi.

Teknologi CtP relative baru di Indonesia, yakni baru sekitar tahun 2000-an. Dibanding dengan sistem Computer to Film, teknologi CtP memiliki beberapa kelebihan, antara lain :



1. Kualitas lebih baik

a. Dihasilkannya "First Generation Dot" -yakni dari data digital langsung ke pelat tidak melewati suatu media lain/film.

b. Dot yang lebih tajam dibandingkan dengan pelat konvensional.

c. Tidak ada kesalahan copy pada pelat akibat debu, potongan film yang tertinggal, dan lain-lain.

d. Mampu menghasilkan titik raster dari 1 % hingga 99% sehingga jangkauan warna menjadi lebih lebar, sehingga detil pada area highlight maupun shadow menjadi lebih baik.

e. Dot gain berkurang.

f. Registrasi yang sangat akurat

g. Kualitas cetak yang konsisten dan mudah diulang

a. Proses pembuatan pelat lebih cepat.
